It has been announced today that the line up of top tennis players for this summer's Nottingham Masters will include Martina Hingis, Richard Krajicek, Mansour Bahrami and Jeremy Bates.
Taking place at Nottingham Tennis Centre on June 10 - 13, it is sure to be an entertaining event, building on the success of last year's tournament. We are working with Northern Vision again to provide local PR support.
We are celebrating as our client Garry McBride won the Entrepeneur of the Year category at the Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce awards!
Dianne had an enjoyable evening at the ceremony at Derby's Roundhouse and Garry thoroughly deserved the award. Garry is also celebrating one of his projects, Dream, winning two Civic Trust awards, including a special award for community engagement.
Garry McBride, chairman of one of our clients - Derbyshire based bespoke precast concrete specialists Evans Concrete - has been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category of this year's chamber awards.
We are all delighted and look forward to the Chamber dinner at the end of February when we find out if he has won.
The room features all the very latest in new technology and is unparalleled in the Midlands if not the UK - definitely worth a visit!
Over 100 people attended the event where they enjoyed some rather nice champagne and some Indian delicacies!
We organised the event and handled the media relations activity.
DIPLOMA EVENT (November 2009)
We recently worked with Nottingham City Council to organise a celebratory event at Djanogly City Academy Nottingham for Nottingham students who have completed the first year on the new Diplomas.

GEMINI MASTERS TENNIS (June 2009)
The Nottingham Tennis Masters tournament was held at Nottingham Tennis Centre for the first time from 11 - 14 June. We worked with the organisers of the event, Northern Vision, to provide local PR support..
During the 4 day tournament, we were lucky enough to be able to attend on 2 days and observe some spectacular tennis from legendary players, including Richard Krajicek, Greg Rusedski, Ilie Nastase, Peter McNamara and Mansour Bahrami. The event was a success and will be returning to Nottingham next year. The Gemini team recommend it for an enjoyable day out.
Dianne also had the privilege of having a one on one tennis clinic with Richard Krajicek! Despite attracting a small audience, she kept her cool and picked up some handy tips and advice to improve her game. See the photos below of the event. Gemini looks forward to working with Northern Vision on the 2010 event.

GEMINI HIGH FIVES NOTTINGHAM TRAM (March 2009)
The whole Gemini team have been busy over the past few months planning an event to mark the 5th birthday of Nottingham trams, which was successfully celebrated on 9 March. Working for NET, the tram operators, everything from the venue, stage, security, entertainment and guest list had to be arranged.
The day went without a hitch and everyone involved had a great time. We managed to break a world record for the most amount of high fives in one place and had performances from local cheerleaders and gymnasts, as well as BBC’s Des Coleman hosting the event!
To mark the milestone, an event was also held inside the council house for all involved in the planning and infrastructure of the tram, with speeches from councillors and other key people.
We are really pleased with the outcome of the day, it felt good to see it all come together. We also got some really good media coverage for NET. We made some good relationships with NET and the Dairy agency and will hopefully get the chance to work with them again in the future.

WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION GIVE BLUEBELL HILL SECOND MAKEOVER
When all the talk in the construction industry is doom and gloom, its great to hear some good news - and it's all down to the ladies! Women in Construction is an informal networking organisation whose membership is made up of ladies working in various roles in the construction industry in Nottingham including our very own MD Dianne Allen and they have been involved in a community project in St Ann's.
For the second year running Bluebell Hill Community Centre was the focus of activity for a two day Challenge Anneka style makeover by the 40 members of WIC.
Following last year’s community project whereby the ladies transformed the outside of the community centre and its surrounding gardens, this time attention was focussed on redecorating its inside which also involved painting some murals designed by local children. The gardens were given a fresh tidy up too with some new plants kindly provided by Nottingham in Bloom.
At the end of the second day local residents were invited to come and celebrate the opening of the new look centre.
“It was great to return to Bluebell Community Centre and really see this project through,” said Nicola Millward, founder of WIC and managing director of the Millward Partnership. “The centre is a council owned facility but is managed by a small group of local residents and provides the community with a nursery, after schools club and a place for the elderly to meet. Now that improvements have been made to the interior, it should provide a more pleasant environment to meet. It has been an extremely rewarding project and we delighted with the finished result.”
The project was able to go ahead, thanks to the generous donations from, Nottingham in Bloom, The Millward Partnership, John A Stephens, Homebase, PG Property, RBS, Raggett Homes and Dulux.
This is the third voluntary community project that has been handled by WIC.

DIANNE JOINS NOTTINGHAMSHIRE CARES
Gemini’s managing director, Dianne Allen, has joined the leadership team of Nottinghamshire Cares, an organisation which forges links between voluntary organisations that need support and companies that are keen to get involved in the community.
Cares is co-ordinated by Business in the Community and is supported by local public, private and voluntary sector partners. It is the UK's leading employee volunteering programme, offering companies advice and support on how to develop an employee volunteering programme and provides a framework for businesses to engage with their communities and access to a wide range of volunteering opportunities.
“As one of Nottingham’s leading PR agencies, we are keen to put our professional knowledge and experience to good use,” said Dianne. “I look forward to being on the leadership team, particularly to help raise the profile of Nottinghamshire Cares.”
